Russell Coulson - Illustrator Extraordinaire

I am consumed with the notion of pushing a line as far as it will go. A line has its maximum shape and if you take it too far it collapses and you will lose all sense of what you are trying to convey. I always try push the line to the point just before it gives out.”

Russell Coulson lives in the UK. Russell and Tony have been friends and collaborators on art projects of all kinds for over 25 years. The depth and breadth of Russell's work never ceases to amaze me. As Tony says: "Russell's 'line'…whether made with pencil, pen or brush…is always a joy to behold. His work often makes me gasp with open-mouthed admiration for what he’s managed to capture. The acuity. The wit. The sensuousness. The fluidity. But also, as with all great art or story…its humanity…its heart…and its humor. Which of course brings to mind the work of the great Milton Glazer at his magical best. I've been in awe of Russell's talent ever since we first worked together. It's always a privilege and a delight to partner with him on a project."
